Don’t abandon your self

Valentine heartsI am writing in the moment, and that’s not always a good idea, and yet I find the only writing that interests me in both the writing and the reading has some immediacy to it. So…here you go…may it serve.

In this moment I am very aware of my body. The slight ache in my solar plexus, the tender buzz in my heart, the barely perceptible but slightly sick feeling around the chest area.

You just can’t fool the body…the body knows.

One of my best friends was here visiting. A beloved friend. The kind you trust, that you’re grateful to with your whole heart for their loving presence. The kind that brings your favorite kind of Prosecco. And real candy. The beautiful old fashioned kind made by hand (in a tiny little storefront in Wilton, NH). Small luxuries, delicious rituals… all better with love and connection.

For two days, deep satisfying girly soulful and heart-filled. And then goodbyes, creating the achey-buzzy, sinking sensations described. I hate that part. Writing about how awful it feels is how I am getting thru right now.

More and more I try to spend some of every session with my clients in conscious connection with the body. Where are they holding sensation? Where can they feel emotion or the sense of something arising? This only takes a minute or two. And in the quiet of the connection and acceptance of what’s there, peace and healing often follow.

Of course we don’t love feeling these things, why would we? We look for whatever detour promises quick relief. But…

Going into our bodies versus activity or thinking/reacting is where the healing is. You are the temple (get pages and pages of healing ceremonies and rituals!)

  • First-locate the sensations.
  • Try to name some of the emotion.
  • And then just be.
  • For even a few seconds longer than you think you can bear. Just breathe through it while noticing what is.
  • Don’t try to change anything, not even your breathing.
  • Don’t try to make it be different or make yourself wrong for what you feel. Just breathe in and breathe out. And stay with what’s there.

In this moment of feeling, don’t abandon your self.

Be the good mother who can just sit on the edge of your bed without asking for anything.
Be the good friend who listens quietly.
Be the lover who looks at you with loving eyes, even when you are squirmy at being seen but also kind of can’t believe that anyone could love you in this moment.
Be your sweetie-pie dog or cat that always wants to be with you, and you don’t have to do a single thing to earn it.

Yes..be that.

And…I am putting the finishing touches on “Beauty School”- which is going to be an intimate gathering to create more healing, more self-love, more powerful daily practices, more release from what’s not serving you, more truth-telling so you can step into the beauty that is SO TOTALLY YOU…Purify and release…and refill… Very spa-ish for the psyche, the soul, the mind… bringing us into present time where miracles can happen, where synchronicities abound, where gorgeous loving self care can be birthed, and where deep connection to self and others has room to unfold.

I am strongly considering creating this as a sort of ongoing intimate community. With group calls, weekly prompts and delicious ideas, a forum for us to meet and support each other, and opportunities to get live individual coaching with me during specific calling hours. At a really affordable price. I’m craving community right now- the kind of connections that allow you to go further, faster. Where you don’t have to do it all alone, Where you can cheer each other on and have some accountability for the changes you’re longing for. Where you can find me easily and affordably.
Yes? Sound like something you’d love to be a part of? Inaugural membership pricing coming up soon. Let me know if you want to be invited….

Also- The Opening The Door Session is now an intro complimentary and exploratory conversation with me if you’re considering either

1. Psychotherapy/weekly counseling or

2. Intuitive Coaching packages… They are different and I’ve separated them out so that you get exactly what you want.

With so much love…
