Preparing our Hearts for Easter – BeautyBeyondBones
Hey friends!
Oh my gosh it’s 9:05pm, and I haven’t sat down yet all day! Apologies that this post is late…as I mentioned in last week’s post, WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!
And so we are running around like crazy getting everything ready to sell our condo downtown!
They’re coming on Wednesday to take pictures of the condo for Zillow, and so, of course, everything needs to look perfect. Our realtor told us that we need to do some major thinning out of the closets…because right now they’re full of all the boxes that have been arriving with baby shower gifts.
So literally Steven and I are in the car bringing a trunk-load of boxes to my parents to store until we’re in our new place!
But yeah — today I was doing some MAJOR spring cleaning.
BUT – I did carve out an hour this morning to take my daily walk (taking care of baby is still first and foremost priority, even amongst the moving madness!)
So I was listening, like I always do on Monday, to Fr. Mike Schmitz’s homily from Sunday. And wow — it was so good.
Steven and I both listened to it separately and were both moved by his message.
He talked about how Easter is such a great time to reflect on the importance of uniting our suffering in this world to Jesus’ on the Cross. And that we’ve been given the opportunity to share in a small particle of the Cross, and enter His story, in the suffering — great and small — that we endure in this world.
And it really hit home for me. And I highly encourage you to give it a listen. I’ll link the video right here:
So there you go. Steven and I are planning on watching The Passion of the Christ on Thursday night. It really helps to prepare our hearts for Easter. Not an easy watch, of course. But it really makes the Gospel real and personal.
So there you go. I hope you all have a blessed and holy Holy Week. I will be praying for you, as we keep watch at the tomb for the risen Christ.
Sending hugs
xoxo
