The growing divide between what’s considered healthy food and what can legally be labeled as healthy is on its way to reconciling. In response to pressure from the health community, elected officials and the public, the Food and Drug Administration is taking steps to redefine the term “healthy” as it’s used on food labels, the agency confirmed Tuesday.

University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health Hosts…

Together with UM’s School of Social Work and its College of Food and Agriculture, the School of Public Health held an “International No Diet Day” speaking event, complete with “pizza and anti-diet swag.” One of the speakers at the event was self-proclaimed “fat activist” Virgie Tovar, who educated attendees on “the myths and social stereotypes around fat oppression.”
