How your ship comes in


~Your ship comes in over calm seas.

When you feel like something important is missing in your life, and go into the wanting,
and the not-having, and the questioning of why it’s not there, and all your old beliefs
from your core wound start to play out in this arena and all of the others…

It’s important to remember this.

And btw, you KNOW i am not some law of attraction groupie spouting new age crap.
I hope you know that.

Life is way more complicated, though I know for sure we play a part in creating with life.
And our beliefs that run deep along with our emotional energy are big players.

What I know is that when we are wanting wanting, frustrated and focused on the pain of it…
things tend to jam up. We know it, we’ve seen it. The more we want it, the more elusive
it can feel.

And then that channel of belief, thinking we can create in this particular way…
gets really stuck. We keep repeating the not-having, we repeat the familiar emotional states,
we repeat the long ago beliefs that played out in our earlier life.

Think about when the very best things happened for you.

It’s likely you weren’t in that scrunched up ball of frustration and distress of wishing and hoping.

It’s a good bet, that when you shifted focus and were in your life in an easy way, doing your thing, and probably in a lighter moment, that something surprised you and showed up.

Something really good happened for me not long ago.
And I was curious about what the day was like when it showed up.

And this is sort of funny, but again it was about the energy signature I was in at the time.

I had been trying to get a medical insurance thing taken care of and it was HELLISH.
I thought i was going to go crazy trying to figure it out and resolve it.
And all the dread, and also the difficulty of talking on the phone with my voice in recovery
and still impaired etc.

But that day, I went over in person to meet with the insurer.
And It was so wonderful!!
The rep totally figured things out with me, easily, it didn’t matter that my voice was raspy,
it didn’t matter that I had been overwhelmed and clueless about the choices. She knew what to do,
we got it done and when I left.. and I”m not exaggerating…


I felt triumphant. *seriously*..

I felt so light, so happy, so resolved.. the heavy worry of energy and deadlines
and penalties and fears that had been with me around this thing… gone.
I felt so so good and was so grateful for the competence and kindness of the woman
who sorted it out with me.

And shortly after, that afternoon. The ‘good thing’ came to me.

I remember the feeling. Bright, light, relieved, grateful, empowered, relieved..
I think grateful probably was the biggest.
Thank you thank you for this woman who just took care of it and made my worry go away.. poof.

And I love thinking of other things like that.

The time I got an amazing new client, ‘out of the blue’ when I was at the airport about to go on vacation.
I was so relaxed, sitting in the terminal (this was awhile ago :))
so excited to study again in person with one of my favorite teachers,
and the email inquiry came in, and because i had time and the new prospective client had time,
we hopped on the phone and when I hung up, she’d paid for my signature program, it was in my account, and off I went to a 4 day seminar with Caroline Myss in Canada.
With a chunk of new money in my account.

There are lots of other examples that are similar.

And you have your own.

The best things find us when we are receptive.

When the energy is not so sticky, when we aren’t hyper

focused on something that isn’t here yet.

When we can appreciate and enjoy where we are in the moment

even when it’s not perfect, even when we have our complicated feelings
and preferences and life challenges and the rest.

The being able to still find some peace and that calm… to be able to quiet the storm,
to quiet the nervous system, to not get hijacked by our emotional patterns and our
repetitive thoughts, and the chemicals we run from it all…. make a big difference.

Your ship(s) really do come in over calmer seas.

And trust me, this is a practice..

a progress not perfection practice.

Don’t go into any idea of perfection.

Just in any moment, see where you can smooth yourself

out a bit. Yes using the breath is essential.
Yes, tuning into your body and softening what is there is essential.

My clients make fun of me b/c i talk about ‘softening’ so so much.

And yet I’ve found no better word for it.
Softening sounds like what it is… breathe in breathe out and soffffttttennnnn.

Ahh. you can do this.

And you will over and over and over again.

And… you will feel better.

Oh yes you will.

And you may even see something shift that you’ve

been waiting for what seems like for EVER.

Calm seas. You are the ocean.

Not every second… you will have stormy seas.

But you will remember that when you can quiet

the focus a bit, quiet the body and the thoughts, there is

a beautiful space that allows things to move.

And.. I can show you how.
Can work with you through all of the moments and relationships which
make your waters churn and froth.

It takes a lot of focus,
A dose of willingness.
The right support from somebody who has done it, and whose
clients have done it and made the changes, powerfully.
